Where the vegetables are green,
And you can pee right into the stream! (And that's important!)
Back in the shadows again.

I'm back at work. I went back to work yesterday, actually; my dear and loving wife drove me in. I'm much, much better than I was last week, though I found this morning that I was down a full pants size, and my departmental manager IM'd me to ask about my cough – and he works in Philadelphia.

I wore my L.L. Bean canvas barn jacket, as it was supposed to snow yesterday afternoon. And it did, a couple inches of wet slop. The jacket held up nicely, even though it's not the waxed canvas you used to be able to buy. It's supposed to get into the 30s today, but the morning was cool and damp, and I wore the jacket again, rather than get sick again to prove how weatherproof I was.

The car was covered in ice this morning. Janet got in and fired everything up, and I began to scrape. (I even wore gloves!) By the time I'd gotten one side free, the ice was getting easier to scrape, and the rest of it went quickly. It's nice having a car that can participate in its own de-icing. My first car, Leviathan the Buick, had a rear-window defroster that aimed a little stream of lukewarm air at one spot, sort of like asthmatic mouse breath. If you were patient, it would clear a space nearly several inches across. This – this is better.

So I have to try and maintain the weight loss, and I would far rather be napping on the couch, but I'm well enough to be active and out, so long as I'm not too damn active and keep plenty of tissues at hand. At least I don't squeak and gurgle when I breath now. It's not much, but it's something.

Yay for feeling better! I LOLd about your dept. mgr. inquiring about your cough, from Philly! I've had times lately when I could track a customer through the store (if I wanted to) by following the sound of their particular cough.
I hope you continue to improve, Professor.

I never knew you liked The Firesign Theater , else I'da chatted you up about them in 1969 when I began collecting thier records .

Watch out for that cold ~ out here it keeps coming back every two or three weeks just when you relax .

LJ says they can't post my missives in case this pops up twice...
